Youth Reviews the CBCA Shortlist Videoconference - Book Week 2012 17th August 2012

What a fun day! Twelve schools from around New South Wales watched a video conference between Caddie's Creek PS in Sydney and Dubbo West PS in country NSW and listened to youth reviews and then a discussion of the CBCA 2012 Book of the Year Shortlist for Younger Readers. The morning's host Jackie Hawkes, a CBCA NSW Committee member, introduced Guest Author, Toni Brisland, who spoke about her love of reading and books from her childhood that are special to her. Then, students from both schools spoke for 5 minutes on each of the shortlisted books. At 12 midday Jackie announced the CBCA Book of the Year for Younger Readers - Crow Country by Kate Constable. Congratulations to all schools and staff involved in such a successful event.
